Manchester United are set to make a bid for Aston Villa midfielder John McGinn as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer continues his summer rebuild, according to reports.
The Red Devils boss is currently strengthening his squad after finishing sixth in the Premier League last season and missing out on Champions League football.
After already securing deals for winger Daniel James and right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka, the Norwegian is reportedly keen to add a midfielder to his ranks.
And the Sun reports that the Old Trafford club are preparing to make an opening offer for Villa star McGinn, but also claims that the Premier League returnees want a staggering £50 million for the Scotland international.

According to the publication, United have made background checks on the 24-year-old, who only arrived at Villa Park last summer, ahead of their approach.
McGinn had a stellar first season in England following his £2.7m move from Hibernian, scoring six goals and providing 10 assists in 40 Championship appearances.
He also starred in the playoff final, finding the net in the 2-1 win over Derby and being named Man of the Match as Dean Smith’s side secured their return to the top flight.
It is also claimed that the midlands club rate McGinn so highly that they are currently looking to tie him down to a new long-term deal, and it would take a substantial offer to persuade them to part company with the player.

United have already shown that they are prepared to spend big after confirming the signing of talented defender Wan-Bissaka on Saturday.
The 21-year-old penned a five-year deal at Old Trafford, with the option of a sixth, after a £50m fee was agreed with Crystal Palace .
With Solskjaer’s business far from done, United are also reportedly considering moves for Newcastle midfielder Sean Longstaff and Sporting Lisbon star Bruno Fernandes.
Meanwhile, Villa are close to signing Southampton left-back Matt Targett after agreeing a £14m fee that could rise to £17m.
